📍 Steelhouse Appearance: 2014
🎸 Genre: Progressive Rock / Arena Rock
🇬🇧 From: London, England

🎤 Band Bio

Formed in 1981 as a supergroup of prog rock royalty, Asia combined the technical wizardry of their members’ former bands with a more streamlined, radio-friendly sound that dominated the early '80s. Comprised of ex-members of Yes, King Crimson, Emerson, Lake & Palmer, and The Buggles, Asia fused complex musicianship with soaring hooks, anthemic choruses, and polished production.

Their self-titled debut became one of the best-selling albums of 1982, powered by the mega-hit Heat of the Moment. While their sound shifted across decades, their musical pedigree and stage presence remained untouchable.

👥 Band Members

  • 🎤 John Wetton – Lead Vocals & Bass (RIP – a true prog legend)
  • 🎹 Geoff Downes – Keyboards (also of The Buggles/Yes)
  • 🎸 Sam Coulson – Guitar (joined in 2013, replacing Steve Howe)
  • 🥁 Carl Palmer – Drums (of Emerson, Lake & Palmer fame)

💔 Steelhouse 2014 would be among John Wetton’s final tours with the band before his passing in 2017.
