📍 Steelhouse Appearances: 2012, 2015, 2021
🎸 Genre: Melodic Rock / AOR / Classic Rock
🏴 From: London, England

🎤 Band Bio

Formed in 1984 and still going strong, FM are the UK’s answer to arena rock’s golden age – all smooth harmonies, soaring vocals, and hooks that hit like a wave of nostalgia wrapped in leather and denim.

Fronted by the incomparable Steve Overland, FM built their name on perfectly crafted AOR – mixing the polish of Journey with the soul of Bad Company. Their comeback in the late 2000s saw them embraced by a new generation, and they’ve remained festival favourites ever since.

Whether you were there for Indiscreet back in ’86 or first saw them at Steelhouse with a beer in hand, FM bring the classy side of rock to the Welsh mountain every time.

👥 Band Members (most recent Steelhouse line-up)

  • 🎤 Steve Overland – Vocals / Guitar
  • 🎹 Jem Davis – Keyboards
  • 🎸 Jim Kirkpatrick – Lead Guitar
  • 🥁 Pete Jupp – Drums
  • 🎸 Merv Goldsworthy – Bass

💬 Note: Overland and Jupp are founding members, still powering forward four decades on.

The classic debut. Instant AOR masterpiece.

📀 Tough It Out (1989)

Biggest album to date – even slicker, even louder.

Post-comeback gold – modern AOR done right.
🎧 Only Foolin', Cold Hearted

📀 Synchronized (2020) & Thirteen (2022)

Proof they’re still at the top of their game. Polished, melodic, and ageless.

🏔️ Steelhouse Festival Appearances

🎸 2012Melodic Majesty

One of the smoothest sets in early Steelhouse history. AOR fans were in heaven.

🎸 2015Return of the Kings

Tighter, louder, and armed with even more hits – FM proved they were far from a nostalgia act.

🎸 2021Post-Pandemic Class

With the world coming back to life, FM brought melody, warmth, and rock-solid performances to a crowd that needed them.

“They don’t just play songs – they build sonic skyscrapers and then set them alight.”

🧨 Overall Review

“FM are the sound of class in a can. Steelhouse wouldn’t be the same without them – polished, powerful, and pure melodic rock joy. A masterclass every time.”

Bring ’em back? Like the chorus says: Someday… they'll come running.
