Let’s face it – camping at Steelhouse isn’t just part of the festival... it is the festival. From sunrise guitar jams to late-night singalongs in your wellies, the campsite is where memories are made, friendships are forged, and yes – the weather occasionally tries to murder your gazebo.


Whether you’re a first-time camper or a seasoned Steelhouse tent warrior, here’s your ultimate guide to camping like a legend.

️ Picking Your Spot​

Arrive early​

Want a flat pitch, close to the arena, and not next to someone who snores like a Harley Davidson? Rock up early – ideally Friday morning.

Know your zones​

• General Camping – all the good vibes and close to the action
• Family/Quiet Camping – for those with little rockers or needing rest
• Accessible Camping – pre-register via the website for support and space
• Live-In Vehicle Field – campers, vans, and those sleeping on wheels

What to Pack (That You Might Forget)​

• Good roll mat / airbed – the ground is not your friend
• Head torch – for midnight loo runs or finding your way to your tent after “just one more pint”
• Loo roll + wet wipes – festival gold
• Sun cream AND poncho – Steelhouse weather is a beast
• Warm hoodie for nights – it will drop to "brisk dragon breath" levels
• Battery pack – so you can find your friends and film that encore
• Camping chair – your back will thank you
• Snacks & a camping stove (if allowed) – nothing like a 2AM Pot Noodle
